Carpets Fit for a King!

In 2014, Goodrich Global has the privilege to design and install the carpets at the Sultan Mosque. Located in the historic Kampong Glam district, Sultan Mosque also known as Masjid Sultan is a well-known mosque in Singapore. Gazetted as a national monument in 1975, the mosque has long been a focal point for the Muslim community.

This religious building is over 100 years old and it was built in 1824 for Sultan Hussein Shah, the first sultan of Singapore. Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, gave $3,000 to the construction of the initial mosque. This mosque was later rebuilt and designed by Denis Santry from Swan and Maclaren, in 1932.

Goodrich was commissioned to design and install these wall to wall carpets. The whole process took more than 6 months to complete. Ornate designs of high quality carpets were installed in both the male and female prayer halls.

Wall to wall carpets also known as broadloom carpets are luxurious feeling especially under your bare feet. Along with softening a room setting, this flooring option provides extra cushioning and can help diminish noise for silent prayers. Suitable for high-traffic environment and frequent usages.

Carpets can be customised to the customers’ requirements in terms of colours, designs and sizes. Broadloom carpets are ideal for hotels, offices and homes too.
